Love does not change. If it does then it is not love. God is love and He does not change. There are two things that will not change and it is these two things that give us security in this world and security for all eternity. When Adam and Eve sinned God’s love did not change for them. He loved them as much as he had loved them before. It was Adam and Eve who had changed and they could no longer experience God’s love.

Love Can Be Rejected
Love to the soul is like food for the body. We need it, we long for it if we do not have it and we will do almost anything to get it. This is where many a young person gets into trouble. Looking for love in the wrong places. A price can not be put on love because it is the greatest gift that you can ever receive from another and only a fool exchanges love.
Love Still is the Plan
When Adam and Eve disobeyed the command that the Lord had given them for their own protection there had to be consequences or they would have continued in their rebellion against the Lord. He did not accuse them and He still loved them. The plan had not changed but the way for the plan to become a reality had changed. Adam and Eve had not been faithful and could not be trusted.
Love Makes a Home
We all need a home. A home is different from a house. A home is where you feel loved and secure. A home is where you can go anytime and you are always welcome. It is your home and it was made for you to dwell there. A home offers protection from the world and the elements. The storms of this world, whether emotional or physical, can be cold and seem cruel and relentless at times but if you have a home then you have a shelter. We all long for a place where we feel loved and secure that we can call our home.
Love Can be Traded
Love is a precious gift that can not be bought. However, we can trade it for something much cheaper and of no value and that is what Adam and Eve did. They traded the gift that God had given to them of living in and experiencing His love for doing something that He never intended for them to do. Instead of loving each other they became accuser’s. They now felt the need to blame someone for their problems.
Love is Relational
Love is about relationships. The Lord made us to be in a relationship with Him and in relationship with others. It is not good to alone. It is love that makes the relationships alive and meaningful and the relationships that we have define our lives. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God then their relationship with God changed and they changed.
Love Brings Satisfaction
Love brings satisfaction to others by helping them to become the person that God designed them to be and to do the things that God wants them to do. A person can only do this if they have the love of God abiding in them.
Love Must be Together
Love must be together. Love is relational and relationships must be nurtured to grow strong. The Lord brings a man and a woman together in marriage to be with each other. Your marriage will not grow strong and your love will not grow deeper unless there is an investment of your money and your time.
Love Has an Enemy
Love has an enemy that wants to destroy it and the people in the relationship where love is. God is love and there will only be true love where God is but there is one who hates God and he will do everything he can to destroy what the Lord establishes. The Lord is the One who brings people together in marriage.
Love is Loving
Love is a verb and an action and not a feeling. Somehow we all know that because we know that when someone says, “I love you”, it does not necessarily mean that they do. We want to see their love in action. Love also is who someone is and love flows from the person who loves. Love does not come from the recipient but from the one who loves. If it comes from the recipient then it is a conditional love that is a “I love you because…” and that kind of love will never sustain a relationship or marriage. Love must come from the one who loves. Sometimes that love is returned and sometimes it is not returned. That is the risk that the one who loves has to take. God took that risk with Adam and Eve when He created them and He has taken that risk with us.
